For most of us, aging well means maintaining our current lifestyle, with very few changes. But many older adults, not prepared for the realities of aging, are simply not ready for the dramatic impact aging can have upon their day-to-day lives. Some may sense a loss of control and vulnerability. Often, family members are not prepared or equipped to balance their own needs and responsibilities with the added demands of caring for aging parents.
When faced with such changes, professional counseling to understand and cope with the challenges is a positive move toward regaining control and well-being.
With over a decade of experience as a counselor and geriatric care manager, I have successfully worked with numerous older adults and their families, helping them adapt to their changing situations and manage the unique issues of aging.
